＜病院本館1階の食堂前にあなたは立っています。
そこで外国人の方に話しかけられる、という設定で、病院内のさまざまな場所への行き方を説明します。＞
放射線科 the X-ray room
Patient: How can I get to the radiation room?
（放射線科はどちらですか？）
Nurse: Could you speak slowly?
（もう少しゆっくり話していただけますか？）
Patient: How can I get to the X-ray room?
（放射線科はどのように行ったらいいですか？）
Nurse: OK. Go straight.
（はい、まっすぐ進んでください。）
Turn left and go straight again.
（左に曲がって、またまっすぐ進んでください）
The reception is on your right.
（受付は、あなたの右側にあります）
会計 Cashier
Patient: How can I get to cashier?
（会計はどこですか？）
Nurse: OK. Go straight.
（はい、まっすぐ進んでください。）
It is on your left, next to the First Visit counter.
（あなたの左手にあります。新患受付のとなりです。）
薬局 Pharmacy
Patient: How can I get to the pharmacy?
Nurse: OK. Go straight.
（はい、まっすぐ進んでください。）
It is on your left, behind the information counter.
（あなたの左手にあります。総合案内の後ろ側です）
タクシー乗り場 Taxi stand
Patient: Where can I catch a taxi?
（どこでタクシーに乗れますか？）
Nurse: A taxi stand is over there.
（タクシー乗り場はあそこです。）
または
You can catch a taxi over there.
（タクシーはあそこで乗れます）
採血・採尿室 Clinical lab
Patient: Could you tell me where I should go for a blood test? the clinical lab?
（どこに採血してもらいに行けばいいか教えてください。採血採尿室はどこですか？）
Nurse: Speak slowly, please?
（ゆっくり話していただけますか？）
Patient: Where can I take a blood test?
（どこで採血してもらえますか？）
Nurse: The clinical lab is on the 2nd floor.
（採血・採尿室は二階です。）
Go straight. You will see the escalator.
（まっすぐ行くとエスカレーターがあります。）
もしくは、
ここで少し時間があって、エスカレーターまでお連れできるときは
次のように言います。
I will take you to the escalator. Please follow me.
（エスカレーターまでお連れしますのでこちらへどうぞ）
そして、次のように続けます。
Take the escalator to the 2nd floor． Turn left. It is on your right.
（エスカレーターで二階に上がって下さい。左に曲がると右側にあります）
さらに、「IDカードを入れて、受付機から整理券を取ってください。」と説明する
場合は、
Please get a ticket from a machine with your ID card.
(IDカードで、受付機から整理券を取ってください。)
この表現をネイティブらしい表現で言うと、次のようになります。
Please insert your ID card into a machine and collect a ticket.
それから、「番号が呼ばれるまでお待ちください」と続けます。
Please wait for your number to be called.
もしくは
Please wait until your number is called.
生理機能検査室 Physiological lab
Patient: Ｗhere is the test lab for urine? I mean, where is “the physiological lab”?
（生理機能検査室はどこですか？）
Nurse: It is on the 2nd floor.
（二階にあります。）
It is next to a big hall.
（大きなホールの隣です。）
Please insert your ID card into a machine and collect a ticket.
（機械にIDカードを入れて券を取って下さい。）
Please wait for your number to be called.
(券に書かれた番号が呼ばれるまでお待ち下さい。)
産科病棟 Maternity unit
Patient: I’d like to visit my friend in the Maternity unit. How can I get there?
（産科病棟にお友達を訪ねてきたのですが、どうやったらいけますか？）
Nurse: It is on the East side of the 3rd floor.
(3階の東側にあります。）
Do you have a visitor card?
(訪問者カードをお持ちですか？)
ここでその方が
Patient: “No, I don’t have a visitor card.”(訪問者カードは持っていません）
と答えた場合は、
Nurse: I will take you to the information counter. Please follow me.
（インフォメーションカウンターまでご案内します。）
と言って、「総合案内」にお連れします。
もしも
“Do you have a visitor card?”
とあなたが聞いて、相手の方が、
Patient: “Yes, I have a visitor card.”
と答えた場合は、次のように続けます。
Take the elevator to the 3rd floor.
（エレベーターで三階にあがって下さい）
The Maternity unit is on your left side.
（産科病棟は左手にあります。）
After you get off the elevator, turn left and turn left again.
（エレベーターを折りたら左に曲がり、もう一度左に曲がって下さい）
最後に
聖路加産科クリニック (A: St. Luke's Birth Clinic) や聖路加タワー中のクリニック (A: St Luke’s Affiliated Clinic) などの場所を聞かれたときは、
It is not easy to go there.
簡単にはいけません。 とひと言いってから、
I will take you to the information counter.
と言って、総合受付に案内することもできます。
